About this Course

Perfect for newcomers and the next step for those who have already hand-sewn and/or used a sewing machine. All students begin by learning basic stitches on a practice piece of material. From there we make a pin cushion so students have a place to store their pins as they sew and create their projects. For students who know how to operate their own sewing machine and are familiar with their machine, a pattern project (simple pajama bottoms) is available. An in-class machine is used to show students stitches, for demonstration only. This is not a class on how to operate a sewing machine. Projects include a pin cushion, bookmark, stuffed animal or doll and clothes to go with it. Students must be at least entering the 2nd grade. Per the county health order, participants in all indoor activities must wear facial coverings.
